The kitchen team has created an exclusive floral-themed menu which will run for the duration of RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
There are worse places to have breakfast than Aqua at the Shard. There might be better food, and at a better price, but the service, views, breakfast and … those views make it priceless. Which of course it isn’t. In fact it’s a tad expensive, and my tattie scones, black pudding and poached eggs were very good, albeit oddly lacking in seasoning. But you’re not really there to eat, or in my colleague and my case, talk. You take in the views. And when you tire of those you can take a peek at the English country garden display that’s been created to celebrate the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
In tribute to the event, the restaurant's atrium boasts a striking twenty-foot column of greenery and flowers alongside a six-foot grass watering can to spectacular effect. Offset by the restaurant's stunning views across London, the installation has been specially designed by acclaimed florist and celebrity favourite McQueens.
To accompany the display, the kitchen team has created an exclusive floral-themed menu which will run for the duration of RHS Chelsea Flower Show. The menu features Jasmine tea-steamed artichoke with teal & Citrus jelly and Jerusalem artichoke mousse with Viola flowers, followed by Roasted wild sea bass with white bean stew, aloe vera cubes, dandelion seasoned with acacia rose vinaigrette. For dessert, an orange blossom and pink pepper panna cotta will be served with black olive crumble and a white chocolate sorbet. Or you could just go there for breakfast.
But don’t bother with trying conversation.
Installation from 15th May, Chelsea Flower Show Garden menu from Monday 18th May to Sunday 24th May 2015. Menu priced at £49pp.
