Tottenham Hotspur media round-up: Marseille can't afford to keep Ayew

A round up of news stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.

The Daily Mirror has reported that Andre Ayew is set to quite Marseille because the French club can’t afford to keep him.

The paper mentions Tottenham as an interested party in signing him, along with Premier League rivals Liverpool.

The 25-year-old winger could be the subject of formal interest from the club once the transfer window reopens.

Everton defender Phil Jagielka has been quoted by the Daily Star urging Aaron Lennon to snub a future at Tottenham.

The winger has been playing on loan at Goodison Park after leaving White Hart Lane last winter.

It’s unclear whether Everton are going to look at the option of signing him on a permanent basis ahead of next season.

“I'm sure if Spurs are looking to get rid, then the manager and the board will be looking to make that permanent,” said Jagielka.

The Daily Mirror has reported that Andros Townsend’s father has quit as a coach.

He has been left frustrated after the FA took six months to look into alleged racist chanting towards some of his under-17 players in a match.

The paper states that the ruling over the claims showed an inability to prove the allegations.
