Isla signed for QPR at the beginning of this season on a long-term loan from Juventus, but the Watford Observer claim that he could be heading to Vicarage Road next term.
A 26-year-old right back, Isla has made 27 appearances this season, failing to help keep the R’s in the Premier League. Despite poor team performances, the Chilean international has come under much praise for impressive displays, and his strong work ethic endeared him to many.
A holder of 57 caps for the Chile national team, Isla impressed at the World Cup, and after his strong campaign it would come as no surprise to see a number of other Premier League teams show an interest in him this summer.
Watford are preparing for their return to the Premier League, and the right back position is one that looks as if it needs strengthening. Juan Carlos Paredes played most frequently in that role - although he failed to consistently impress - whilst Marco Motta arrived midway through the season and showed potential Premier League quality.
Isla has proven top flight talent, and could quite easily claim the starting role away from both Motta and Paredes if he were to sign, but the Hornets may find issues in purchasing the full-back, with his contract at Juventus not expiring until 2017.
Juve will not be pushed to sell him, and after an impressive campaign they could look to force a high price for Isla - one that Watford may not be able to afford to pay.
