The Liverpool Echo has reported that Jordon Ibe will sign a new contract with the club as early as next week.
The young winger has been able to conclude a deal with the club swiftly because he’s represented by his father and not a professional agent.
The paper states that the deal will be worth around £30,000 per week and will run up until 2020.
The paper also claims that two more experienced players in the form of Martin Skrtel and Joe Allen are also expected to sign new deals with the club.
Skrtel has been a consistent player in defence for Brendan Rodgers this season, while Joe Allen has proven to be versatile and a good option across the team’s midfield.
Liverpool have done well this season to secure several key players down on long term deals, which will help to take some of the pressure away from Brendan Rodgers in the transfer market.
The club is still waiting on Raheem Sterling to make a long term decision over his future, but it’s encouraging they won’t have a problem in terms of potentially losing Ibe if the deal goes through as planned.
