Report: Carlisle United deny any approach made for Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday target Kyle Dempsey

The attacker has been in fine form this season.

Nottingham Forest will be hoping for an assault on the Championship play-off places next season, with Dougie Freedman set for his first season in charge of the club.

The Scot will however need to make some signings before he tries to take the club further up the Championship table and toward the Premier League promised land.

One name being linked with a move is Carlisle United winger Kyle Dempsey.

It was reported earlier in the week by Shoot Magazine that both Forest and Sheffield Wednesday were keen on the 19-year-old.

Now however, it has been made clear that no approach has been made for the player.

It is reported by the News and Star that there have been no approaches made for the signature of Dempsey so far this summer.

The report claims Carlisle have no desire to sell the player, who only signed a contract extension at the club recently.

Any deal for Dempsey from Forest would have been a loan, with a view to a permanent deal, because of the transfer embargo.

Meanwhile, Sheffield Wednesday were ready to make a concrete bid.

For now, it seems as though no approach has been made from either party.
