The Tottenham Hotspur boss has revealed his 'cold' side.
And Pochettino has warned that 'nobody' is sure to stay at White Hart Lane, whether they are a first-team regular or someone who barely features.
The Tottenham boss told reporters: "Always you need to analyse the last season and nobody is sure to stay at the club.
"You need to be professional when you take a decision. My first speech with the players is one thing is the human side, the other the professional side. I am very cold on my professional side because when I need to take a decision."
Meanwhile, when it comes to recruitment, Pochettino is keen to 'learn' and avoid the mistakes of Tottenham's recent past.
After the north London club had sold Gareth Bale to Real Madrid in 2013, the millions received for the Welshman were not spent appropriately. Indeed, many of the names brought in that summer may well be on Pochettino's list of departees this time around.
The Argentine added: "We need to learn and look forward. We need to learn. We have a different plan to develop over the next few years and we need to deliver it."
Tottenham host Hull City at White Hart Lane this Saturday afternoon, with Pochettino's side surely intent on restoring some pride after their 3-0 battering at the hands of Stoke City last weekend.
Hull, though, will know they are in a precarious position in their battle against relegation, meaning Spurs *could* face a side a ready to fight for their lives.
