Juventus sprung something of a shock on Tuesday night by drawing 1-1 against Real Madrid in the Champions League, giving them a 3-2 aggregate win - and a place in the final against Barcelona next month.
The Serie A giants haven't played in the final of Europe's elite competition since losing to AC Milan at Old Trafford back in 2003, and are now just 90 minutes away from possibly raising the trophy in Berlin.
Massimiliano Allegri's side will enter the final as heavy underdogs considering Barcelona and their exceptional recent form, with deadly trio Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Neymar scoring goals on a regular basis under Luis Enrique.
The game will see a number of intriguing battles; Andrea Pirlo vs Andres Iniesta, Messi v Giorgio Chiellini and Carlos Tevez vs Javier Mascherano - the Argentine international team-mates who of course used to play for West Ham United.
The duo joined West Ham shortly after the 2006 World Cup, with the two Argentines being seen as something of a coup for the Hammers and manager Alan Pardew, having attracted plenty of interest around the world with former club Corinthians.
Yet, despite being highly rated, defensive midfielder Mascherano played just seven games for West Ham before joining Liverpool, though striker Tevez had more success, scoring seven goals in 29 games, earning a move to Manchester United at the end of the 2006/07 season
Now, almost nine years since arriving at Upton Park, Mascherano and Tevez will be going head to head, with Europe's biggest club prize on offer - and Hammers fans will no doubt be tuning in to watch as they see how far the duo have come since playing in claret and blue.
