A selection of the latest stories in the media involving Liverpool Football Club this Thursday morning.

Liverpool are said to be interested in a move for Southampton defender Jose Fonteaccording to a report in the Mirror.

The report says the Portuguese centre-back could be available for 'the right price' - with the 31-year-old's contract running out in 2017 and Southampton boss Ronald Koeman said to be making changes to his side this summer.

Fonte partnered current Liverpool centre-back Dejan Lovren last season at St Mary's.

Another report has emerged linking Liverpool with a move for Burnley's Danny Ings, this time from the Daily Mail - who say the Reds are 'confident' the 22-year-old will choose a move to Anfield, while David Moyes's Real Sociedad are also reportedly interested in him.

Ahead of this weekend's game with Crystal Palace, Steven Gerrard has been talking to the BBC reflecting on his Liverpool career as he prepares for his final home game for his boyhood club.

Unsurprisingly, Gerrard has said his biggest regret as a player was not being able to win the Premier League, which would have completed his collection of major trophies.

He said: "It is not the only regret, I think it is the biggest.

"I would love to say that I have got the full collection, it would be the icing on the cake.

"You are always going to have incredible moments and you are also going to have some cruel lows as well.

"I also look at other FA Cup Finals that I have missed out on and the second Champions League Final in 2007.

"Nobody's journey ever goes smoothly, mine certainly hasn't, but I am certainly proud of it and I wouldn't change it for anything."
