The German international has been in great form for Barcelona in the Champions League.
Arsenal have certainly had an interesting time of it regarding goalkeepers this season. Wojciech Szczesny started the campaign as number one, but has been replaced with David Ospina after some poor form. Emiliano Martinez has also had a stint in goal, after both stoppers were injured at the same time.
The Arsenal goalkeeper position has been discussed on numerous occasions in recent years.
One man thinks he knows just who Arsenal should have signed. Jan Aage Fjortoft is well known for being the Bundesliga expert who announced that Arsenal had signed Mesut Ozil first.
He thinks Arsenal should have tried to sign Marc Andre ter Stegen last summer.
He Tweeted yesterday:
They should have gone for ter Stegen a year ago I think. Now they should go for Leverkusen- keeper LENO https://t.co/qHXImbker1— Jan Aage Fjortoft (@JanAageFjortoft) May 13, 2015
The German international instead went on to join Barcelona, where he has proved himself time and time again in the Champions League.
He made some exceptional saves in his most recent outing, in the 3-2 defeat to Bayern Munich
in the second leg of Barca's triumphant Champions League semi-final.
The two stops he pulled off from Robert Lewandowski were particularly impressive.
For now however Ospina is doing a good job between the sticks and Arsenal will hope he can continue improving at The Emirates.
