Everton have been given a small setback at the end of the season on the injury front. Leighton Baines is to miss the final two games of the season to have ankle surgery on a long-term niggle, in the hope he can be fully fit for pre-season.
Baines has struggled with the problem all season and he will now miss the final two games of the current season.
While it is bad news for Baines, it certainly helps out one man in his quest to secure a long-term deal at Everton.
Luke Garbutt has played 10 times this season and is certainly hoping to go on and become a future star at Goodison Park.
But currently, he is out of contract at the end of the season.
Garbutt, who joined from Leeds United in 2009, has impressed enough in the past year to earn a regular place in the England under-21 side and to rival Baines as Everton 's number one.
Now he will be hoping to shine in the final two games of the season, to leave Roberto Martinez and co in no doubt about keeping hold of him for next season.
