Cellino reveals his daughter had to leave Leeds due to abuse

The Leeds owner made a candid admission during his bizarre press conference on Thursday afternoon.

Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino has revealed that his daughter has been forced to leave Leeds due to abuse from fans, according to the club's official Youtube channel.

The Italian's daughter studied at the university and was based in the city - but is now moving down to London due to the abuse she has received from fans, according to Cellino.

Indeed, the Leeds owner says his daughter couldn't even walk down the street without being sworn at due to Cellino's involvement with the club.

This was a moment during which the Yorkshire side's owner appeared to be at his most candid during a press conference that lasted over an hour - and very little of any substance was actually said.

The Italian told reporters: "I'm used to these things. Maybe it's bad what they did to my daughter. She was loving staying at the University in Leeds with my wife and me.

"Now she's moving to London because she's been through things with the fans. They tell her your father is a c-word, your father is a mother... (sound effect to symbolise a swear word), you are a ---- because of your father.

"And she said: 'I don't stay here anymore. I cannot even walk down the street.'"

Of course, things were no clearer as to the future of Leeds - or that of Neil Redfearn or even Steve Thompson - after another truly extraordinary Cellino episode.

The United owner's new 'right-hand man' Adam Pearson, meanwhile, also failed to shed much light on proceedings at Elland Road as he simply hasn't been in the job long enough to give much away. Pearson was by Cellino's side at the presser and even spent several minutes answering question after question when the Italian took a cigarette break...
