A player linked with Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly close to leaving Turkey for a stint in Qatar.
Emenike’s agent was quoted back in January, suggesting Tottenham were interested in his client. But no move was forthcoming in the winter transfer window and it appears the player’s next destination may soon be confirmed.
Tottenham could do with additional fire-power with an overreliance on Harry Kane this season and fellow strikers Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado flattering to deceive time and time again.
It is not yet known what will happen to the duo but it would be quite a surprise if they were still at White Hart Lane next season.
Either way, Tottenham will surely move for another front-man, and in Emenike, they would have been signing a player who is good rather than great in front of goal.
The Nigeria international has netted 17 times and provided 17 assists in 65 appearances for his current club Fenerbahce, while he previously scored 24 goals for Spartak Moscow and 30 goals for Kardemir Karabukspor.
When you consider his record and his age, it may be no surprise that Tottenham did not ultimately move for the player; especially with the report suggesting Umm Salal are prepared to pay £10million for him.
