Report: Swansea in talks with Heerenveen over summer transfer of Kristoffer Nordfeldt

Swansea are in talks with Nordfeldt concerning a summer transfer to the Liberty Stadium.

According to a report in Dutch media outlet Voetbal International, Swansea are in talks with Heerenveen concerning a summer transfer of Nordfeldt to the Premier League.

A 25-year-old goalkeeper, Nordfeldt has played for the Eredivisie outfit since 2012, having been signed from Swedish club Bromma’karna.

He has played 117 times for his currently employers since signing, conceding 178 goals, and keeping 29 clean sheets.

His form for the Dutch club has also seen him win international recognition, having won four caps for Sweden.

This term has been a strong one for Nordfeldt, as he has featured 33 times, conceding 43 goals, and keeping an impressive nine clean sheets.

His contract expires at the end of next season, and the report states that Swansea have opened talks with him concerning a summer transfer, as Heerenveen look to cash in on him this year rather lan lose him for free next summer.

Swansea are keen to provide competition for first-choice stopper Lukasz Fabianski, who has enjoyed a great debut season with the Swans. Gerhard Tremmel is out-of-contract this summer, and Nordfeldt will also provide a more youthful look to the goalkeeping department of Garry Monk’s men.
