Report: Nottingham Forest 'weighing up' summer move to sign Haris Vuckic

Nottingham Forest are reportedly pursuing Newcastle United forward Haris Vuckic.

According to the Daily Mail, Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Rangers star Haris Vuckic this summer - if their transfer embargo is lifted.

Forest ended the season with an eight game winless run, leaving manager Dougie Freedman with work to do ahead of next term.

It's hard for Freedman to plan with the club's transfer embargo still in place, but with Leeds having theirs overturned this week, Forest will be expecting a similar fate in the coming weeks.

Once that ban is lifted, Forest will be looking to sign new players, and the Daily Mail believe that Rangers loan star Vuckic is on their radar.

The Slovenian forward, 22, found himself frozen out at Newcastle, making just three appearances for the Magpies this season before joining Rangers on loan in February.

Now, Vuckic has hit nine goals in just 17 games for Rangers, becoming the driving force in their push for promotion back to the Scottish Premiership.

His exploits at Ibrox will no doubt attract interest, and with seemingly no future at Newcastle, Forest are allegedly hoping to sign him on loan for the season, running until his contract at Newcastle expires next summer.

After his performances under Stuart McCall, fans would no doubt want to see Vuckic stay at Rangers - but with interest apparently growing in England, it may be hard to keep him in Glasgow beyond the end of this season.
