Is Arsene Wenger hatching a clever plan to sign Petr Cech?

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will reportedly urge Petr Cech to push for a move to the Gunners.

The Daily Telegraph has reported that Arsene Wenger has a plan to sign Petr Cech from Chelsea this summer.

The Arsenal boss is reportedly keen on signing a top quality goalkeeper to come into his squad, with the Czech identified as the main man for the Frenchman.

The problem is that Jose Mourinho may be unwilling to do a deal with the Gunners, who will be competing against Chelsea for the Premier League title next season.

Cech would make Arsenal’s squad stronger and that’s something that Mourinho would realistically want to avoid.

However, the paper has pointed towards the print version of The Sun, which suggests Wenger wants Cech to push for the move personally.

If he does that then it becomes difficult for Mourinho and Chelsea to retain a player on their books who isn’t fully committed to the cause and what the club are trying to achieve.

Mourinho showed with the deal that took Juan Mata to Manchester United that he will sell players to a rival, and Cech’s long and successful service to the club could make it difficult for the Portuguese coach to say no if he asks for the transfer.
