Report: Neil Lennon plans offer to sign Celtic striker John Guidetti this summer

Bolton Wanderers are reportedly making a move for Celtic striker John Guidetti.

According to De Telegraaf, Bolton Wanderers will offer a contract to Celtic striker John Guidetti ahead of this summer's transfer window.

Guidetti, 23, is currently on a season-long loan at Celtic from Manchester City, and has had an up-and-down season in Scotland.

The Swedish international striker made a sensational start to life under Bhoys boss Ronny Deila, smashing 11 goals in his first 12 games for the club to become an instant fan favourite.

Yet since scoring against Dundee in November, Guidetit has hit just four goals in 23 games, leaving his future at the club in doubt.

Guidetti is out of contract at City this summer and will therefore be able to join another club on a free transfer - prompting interest from Bolton, according to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.

Trotters boss Neil Lennon was of course Celtic manager before leaving Glasgow last summer, and he will be hoping to strengthen his squad at the Macron Stadium before the start of next season.

That appears to involve swooping on his former employers to land Guidetti, with De Telegraaf reporting that Wanderes are preparing a contract offer to land Guidetti on a free transfer.

After his recent poor form, Celtic look unlikely to make a bid for Guidetti this summer - but now he could end up playing under ex-Bhoys boss Lennon.
