Three of Manchester United's regular stars will reportedly not feature at all for the club during their tour of America this summer.
According to a report from the Telegraph, Manchester United will be without three of their first-team stars for their entire pre-season campaign.
That means the trio, who cost United a combined transfer fee of £91.7million, were always going to miss the start of United’s tour to the USA.
However, the report claims that United manager Louis van Gaal will allow the South Americans to return to Manchester at the end of their holiday – which will come directly after the competition – rather than asking them to feature in the final friendly fixtures.
United will be hoping Di Maria returns next season a far more effective player than he has been for much of this campaign, with the former Real Madrid man’s brilliant early form tailing off alarmingly in recent months.
Valencia may also find his place in the side under threat if United sign a new out-and-out right-back while Marcos Rojo could also face renewed competition if van Gaal strengthens his back-line as expected.
