This will be good news for QPR, but the London side still face a massive struggle to retain the services of Austin in the months ahead.
The 25-year-old striker has been a rare ray of light for the R’s in an otherwise disappointing 2014/15 campaign, and their failure to stay in the Premier League means that a number of clubs are now sniffing around their prized assets.
Everton clearly feel that there are better options on the market, though, and Martinez will be looking elsewhere as he endeavours to bolster his squad.
The Merseyside outfit do need a frontman to compete with Romelu Lukaku, who currently carries most of their goalscoring responsibility at Goodison Park, and the purchase of a striker is likely to be a priority in the upcoming transfer window.
Everton's lack of squad depth has been exposed this season and Martinez will be looking to add numbers to his team this summer.
