Aston Villa are open to selling Weimann, and are willing to listen to offers for him.
An Austrian international, Weimann has made 129 appearances for Villa, registering 24 goals and 14 assists in that, a respectable tally for a winger.
However, he has never truly kicked on and developed from promising youngster to Premier League regular in that time, and it looks as if his career at Villa Park is coming to an end.
He has featured less in the first-team set-up since Tim Sherwood’s appointment as head coach, and has been left on the substitutes bench for three of the last four games.
Sherwood will be looking to rebuild the squad he inherited this summer, as he enjoys his first pre-season in charge at the Birmingham-based club. It is suspected that he will bring many players in to strengthen his first-team, but to do that, he will likely have to sell.
Weimann looks as if he will be the first player set to leave the club, and with only one year left on his contract he is bound to be available for a budget price for any interested party.
Whilst Villa are preparing to listen to offers for him, there is as yet no indication of any club who is looking to sign Weimann, although that could well change in the coming weeks, with his availability on the transfer market now public knowledge.
