Newcastle United attacker Remy Cabella told the Chronicle he wants the club’s fans to produce a repeat of the backing they gave the side last weekend in the match against West Brom.
Newcastle went into the game against the Baggies looking to end a long losing streak, which they did successfully by grabbing a point against Tony Pulis’ side.
“We prefer that, to have them all behind us. We need to win for them. On Saturday we know they will be behind us. And us on the pitch have to win for them,” he said.
Newcastle are up against it due to consistently bad performances and the fans need to back the team as they look to stay in the Premier League.
The club play at home on the final day of the season and also face a difficult trip to QPR away from home, which won’t be difficult with Chris Ramsey’s team fighting for pride after going down.
It sounds obvious, but the fans could make a big difference to the performance of the side. All supporters want to see is effort and commitment and when they see that, they respond.
Newcastle need to scrap hard and if the players hear the supporters loud and clear, they will give that little bit extra when the fatigue and doubt are starting to kick in.
