Celtic fans react on Twitter to Boerrigter's performance for the under-20s

A forgotten Celtic player scored for the club's under-20 side on Monday, so what did Bhoys fans make of his performance?

Celtic winger Derk Boerrigter not only started for the Bhoys’ under-20 side on Monday but the Dutchman also got on the score-sheet against Saint Mirren.

The 28-year-old signed for Celtic from Ajax back in the summer of 2013, but two years into his four-year deal, Boerrigter has featured just 26 times for the first-team, scoring one goal and providing two assists to date.

Significant injury problems have robbed him of the vast majority of this season, during which he played only two Champions League qualifiers and one Scottish Premiership match before a knee injury struck.

Considering his contract runs until 2017, Boerrigter does in theory still have time to show Celtic manager Ronny Deila he can get back to his best, but that remains to be seen.

Following his goal-scoring performance for Stevie Frail’s young side in their 4-3 defeat we took to Twitter to see what Celtic fans thought of Boerrigter’s performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:
