Arsenal player ratings against Swansea: Three highest scorers

Aaron Ramsey

Arsenal were defeated 1-0 at the hands of Swansea City last night.

Arsenal fell to a disappointing defeat at the hands of Swansea City last night, as the Welsh side prevailed 1-0 with a less than entertaining performance.

The Gunners built pressure and had some good chances over the course of the game, but they were ultimately held back by former shot stopper Lukasz Fabianski.

Here are our player ratings for the game last night.

Ospina – 6

Handled and distributed well, didn’t have much to do other than picking the ball out of his own net.

Bellerin – 6

Got forward well when he could but struggled against the speed coming at him, as Swansea looked to exploit the space he left in behind.

Mertesacker – 6

A mature performance from the big German. He dealt with everything thrown at him in the air.

Koscielny – 6

Did well to keep his discipline when he could have stepped up in the periods where he didn’t have a man to mark.

Monreal – 7

Showed some real pace down the left hand side. Enjoyed more time on the ball because defensively he was solid.

Coquelin – 6

Went about his business well in front of the back four and broke up the play effectively.

Cazorla – 6

Will be disappointed with how he played. Needs to try and get on the ball more when opposition sides drop off.

Ramsey – 7

Worked hard throughout the game and gave the Arsenal midfield some real zip and energy.

Ozil – 5

Arsenal really needed him to get on the ball and open things up but this was another night where he seemed to go missing.

Sanchez – 7

Looked his usual dangerous self and one of the Arsenal players more likely to make something happen when he got onto the ball.

Giroud – 6

Couldn’t make his presence, size and power up front count, which was disappointing.
