Ugo Ehiogu pleased with Tottenham youngsters Milos Veljkovic and Grant Ward

Tottenham Hotspur's Under-21 side beat Fulham in their most recent fixture.

Tottenham Hotspur Under-21 manager Ugo Ehiogu has told the club's official site that Milos Veljkovic and Grant Ward were outstanding in their most recent match.

Tottenham's development squad beat Fulham 2-0 last Friday and Ehiogu was delighted with Veljkovic and Ward's contributions.

He says that the pair were a class above anyone else on the pitch and he thought they enabled Spurs to totally dominate the game.

“In some ways, we were a little too comfortable in possession and weren’t ruthless enough especially in wide areas when we outnumbered them but on the whole, after two games in five days, I was pleased with the performance," he said.

“Grant Ward was excellent, broke up play and looked to surge forward. He looked a player. Milos Veljkovic was outstanding, great composure, always in the right position."

Veljkovic and Ward have both been out on loan this season and it seems that their exposure to regular football has helped their development.

Veljkovic has played for both Middlesbrough and Charlton Athletic in the Championship this season, while Ward was on loan at Coventry City.

It seems that they have returned to White Hart Lane improved players and the hope for them both will be that they can break into the first-team next campaign.

Mauricio Pochettino has expressed a desire to bring through a number of academy graduates and Veljkovic and Ward will both be hoping that they are next in line for a call-up.
