Tottenham Hotspur media round-up: Pochettino on what he'll be doing in coming weeks

A round up of news stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has been quoted by the Daily Telegraph describing the challenge he faces over the next few weeks.

He’s said that his side need to start performing much more positively and consistently in the near future.

He’s admitted that he sees the key to that as improving the club’s playing squad as the transfer window approaches.

“In the next few weeks, it is important to identify and to take a decision on the season and try to improve our squad. This is our challenge now,” he said.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane says his side should be aiming to win the Europa League, as covered by Sky Sports.

Spurs miss out on Champions League football for next season, but Kane is not turning his nose up at playing in Europe on Thursday nights.

He insists that the White Hart Lane club will be taking the competition seriously next season.

“We want to win more trophies and the Europa League is a chance to do that - we'll be taking that competition very seriously,” he said.

The Daily Mail has reported that apparent Tottenham transfer target Max Kruse has signed a contract with German side Wolfsburg.

The agreement covers a four-year period, as the Borussia Monchengladbach forward has decided the next move in his career.

Spurs will have to go back to the drawing board if reports of their interest were accurate.
