HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club that Aberdeen forward Declan McManus is closing in on a move to Fleetwood Town after holding talks with the club over the weekend.
McManus is hot property in England and Scotland after catching the eye during two loan spells at Morton this season.
The 20-year-old scored 23 goals for Morton helping them win the Scotland League One title this season and in the process scooped the PFA Scotland League One Player of the Year award.
McManus is out of contract at Aberdeen this summer and the news of his availability has alerted teams north and south of the border.
Fleetwood are hoping to steal a march on their rivals by agreeing a move for the Scotland Under-21 international early and the player is understood to have been at Highbury for talks on Sunday.
