Former England midfielder Danny Murphy told talkSPORT that he feels Papiss Cisse owes Newcastle United big time.
Cisse returned during the draw against West Brom last weekend, after a long suspension for spitting at Manchester United defender Jonny Evans.
“He’s coming back and I think he really owes Newcastle big time,” said Murphy.
Newcastle have been struggling to score goals and manager John Carver could now install Cisse as the main man up front for the club’s final two games in the league.
Newcastle ended their losing run with a point against the Baggies, but the side have only scored more than one goal just once since the 3-0 win against Hull at the end of January.
The Magpies need different options in attack and players who can step forward to make a difference with things getting tight and tense as the team fight for their future.
Hull’s result against Burnley over the weekend was a surprise but it’s given Newcastle a little bit of breathing space.
Carver can use this week to get Cisse focused and fired up and then he can let him off the leash to hopefully make the difference against QPR.
