Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane explained in an exclusive interview for FourFourTwo that he feels he’s had to work harder than the majority of players for his current status.
Kane is Tottenham’s top scorer and has risen in prominence sharply this season, with his work rate and enthusiasm two of his most popular traits with supporters.
He doesn’t have the blistering pace of other Premier League stars in his position, which means he has to work harder on and off the ball to make an impact in big matches.
“It's not come easy for me. I've probably had to work harder than most to get where I am. I think other fans and other professionals appreciate that. I knew I'd have to work hard just to get my chance,” said Kane.
Kane appears to be a very modest professional player and someone who isn’t content with the levels that he sets himself.
He’s always looking for that next challenge and a way to develop his game to become a better and more effective player for the club.
The challenge moving forward and the question he has to ask himself is; how am I going to replicate the form and impact of this season?
Teams are going to be all over him like a rash next year and looking to make it difficult for him to have any impact over big games.
Opposition sides will see him as the main threat in Tottenham’s attack and he has to deal with that challenge, while helping his teammates to stay effective whether that’s with his passing play or whether he’s looking to create space.
