Sunderland enhanced their chances of survival in the Premier League with a 2-0 win against Everton away from home on Saturday.
The Black Cats headed into the encounter at Goodison Park on the back of a 2-1 victory over Southampton at the Stadium of Light.
Hosts Everton were the favourites to pick up the three points, but it was the visiting Sunderland who were celebrating at the end of the 90 minutes.
After a goalless first half, Danny Graham broke the deadlock at the Goodison in the 53rd minute when he hung out a leg to meet a wayward Jordi Gomez shot, the ball sneaking in off the post via the striker's calf.
It was the 29-year-old striker’s first Premier League goal since December 2013 and helped Sunderland become more confident in the game.
With five minutes of normal time remaining, former Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United striker Jermain Defoe made it 2-0 to Dick Advocaat’s side.
Graham played for 74 minutes, and during that time he took two shots, had a pass accuracy of 48%, won 57% of the headers, and made three clearances and two blocks.
Following the victory, Sunderland fans took to social networking site Twitter to have their say on the performance of Graham.
