Real Madrid star Toni Kroos has taken to social networking site Twitter in order to assuage fans’ worries by posting a positive injury update ahead of the Champions League semi-final second leg.
The German international caused a scare at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday as he was forced off after just 23 minutes of Madrid’s 2-2 draw with Valencia in La Liga.
It was difficult to see what the exact problem was after he suffered a fall, but an initial prognosis suggested he may have affected one of the muscles in his hip.
However, after spending an hour at the Madrid clinic on Sunday morning for more tests, he hinted on Twitter that things had gone well by posting a positive update.
Thank you for your kind messages! I've just been through the examination. Dont worry. Let's focus on Wednesday! pic.twitter.com/kszhbTb2g3— Toni Kroos (@ToniKroos) Mayo 10, 2015
It’s unsure whether or not the former Bayern Munich ace will be available for the visit of Juventus, but boss Carlo Ancelotti is expected to keep a close eye on the situation in the coming days.
Los Blancos trail the Serie A champions 2-1 from the first leg in Turin and with a depleted squad face an uphill battle in overcoming the Italians on Wednesday.
Fellow midfielder Luka Modric is absent, whereas doubts remain over the fitness of star striker Karim Benzema despite the French international resuming full training.
