Michael Owen predicts Arsenal v Swansea City

Michael Owen looks ahead to Monday’s Premier League clash between Arsenal and Swansea City at the Emirates Stadium.

Michael Owen has predicted in his Betvictor.com column that Arsenal will win Monday night’s Premier League game against Swansea City at home.

The Gunners will head into the encounter at the Emirates Stadium on the back of a 3-1 victory over Hull City away from home at the KC Stadium.

Swansea also won their last Premier League fixture, defeating Stoke City 2-0 at the Liberty Stadium.

However, former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Owen believes that Arsenal will have too much for the Welsh outfit at the Emirates.

“The Swans have had a terrific season but the Gunners are finishing the season with a flourish and are hard to oppose,” the 35-year-old wrote on Betvictor.com.

“Interestingly they named an unchanged side for the fourth successive PL game at Hull last weekend the first time they have done this in nineteen years!

“Jack Wilshere looked sharp when he came on at the KC Stadium and I am keen to see more of the England international back in an Arsenal shirt.”

A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Arsenal to win to nil at 23/20”.

Could Michael Owen’s prediction come true?

As former Newcastle United striker Owen says, Swansea are playing well and are having a fabulous season.

The Swans, who are set for a top-10 finish in the Premier League this campaign, could even end up above Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur in the table if they win their final three matches and results elsewhere go in their favour.

However, Arsenal are aiming for the second spot, and one suspects that they will pick up the three points on Monday.

The Gunners are the better team and have better players. Moreover, Arsene Wenger’s side are playing at home, which will give them an added advantage.

Swansea could still pick up a point if they keep it tight at the back and do not make silly mistakes, but one has to back Arsenal to win this particular Premier League encounter.
