Liverpool's Herbie Kane wants to transfer his goal-scoring form to England duty

One of Liverpool's next generation of footballers has been speaking about international matters.

Liverpool youngster Herbie Kane has been speaking to the FA’s official website about what he hopes to bring to England’s under-17 side.

The 16-year-old central midfielder has featured six times for the Three Lions at that level and he is currently in action in the European Championships in Bulgaria.

Yet to score at international level, the Liverpool youngster clearly has it in him having netted regularly for the Reds at various levels.

“I’ve got 15 goals for the under-15s and under-16s at Liverpool this season,” Kane said. “That’s what I want to bring into my game with England – start scoring and assisting more for the team to help us win as I hate losing.”

Liverpool have a number of promising young players coming through the ranks right now, and Kane can be added to that list.

He may be young, and there are sure to be a lot of challenges ahead of him before he can stake a claim for a first-team chance in a few years. But for a central midfielder to score 15 goals in a single season; if he can maintain that kind of record at senior level he could be a gem well worth polishing.
