Jermaine Beckford scored a stunning goal to help Preston reach the League One play-off final.

Preston North End advanced to the final of the League One play-offs after a 3-0 home win over Chesterfield today, meaning they won 4-0 on aggregate.

Jermaine Beckford scored the only goal in the first leg, and was the hero again, scoring twice at Deepdale in the 3-0 win, with Joe Garner grabbing the other goal.

Fans mobbed boyhood Preston fan Garner at the final whistle, but it's loan star Beckford who has taken all the plaudits after a stunning goal.

With Preston already 2-0 up and seeing out the game, Beckford went for this spectacular shot from the half way line - and saw the ball nestle in the corner.

That goal was the Jamaican international's 15th goal for Preston, despite only arriving on loan in November and missing two months at the turn of the year.

The 31-year-old may be banging them in under his former Leeds manager Simon Grayson, but it was at Elland Road where Beckford made his name, smashing 84 goals in 152 games before leaving for Everton in 2010.

With Leeds fans watching Beckford score from 50 yards out, some suggested that Leeds should nwo be looking to offer Beckford a return to Elland Road - especially considering that he's out of contract at Bolton Wanderers this summer.

Other fans would prefer not to look to the past to get Leeds firing again, but Beckford's goal has certainly got fans talking about him again - here are some of the reactions from Leeds fans after Beckford's amazing goal today.
