Ipswich star Berra salutes home atmosphere after playoff derby draw

The Scotland international is looking forward to the return leg against Norwich at Carrow Road next Saturday.

Ipswich Town defender Christophe Berra took to Twitter on Saturday to thank the Portman Road fans for their backing in the playoff derby game with Norwich.

Though the Blues couldn't find the win, the Scot assured the home supporters that the match was very much still up for grabs - with a Wembley final and chance of Premier League football the reward for whoever is victorious.

Norwich took the lead late in the first half, when Jonny Howson swept home after good work from Cameron Jerome, but it was to be a short-lived spell in front, with Ipswich equalising when John Ruddy couldn't hold Freddie Sears' shot, Paul Anderson firing home the loose ball in injury time before the break.

It leaves the tie delicately poised ahead of the return match at Carrow Road next Saturday. The Tractor Boys will be delighted to have stopped Norwich from winning their third East Anglia derby of the season, but will know that they have to put in a terrific performance next week to make the playoff final, having lost 2-0 at that very same ground in March.
