One of Tottenham Hotspur's key players has had his say after the latest setback against Stoke City.
Mark Hughes’ men won courtesy of goals from Charlie Adam, Steven N’Zonzi and Mame Biram Diouf and Spurs also had defender Vlad Chiriches sent off for two bookable offences.
Tottenham dominated possession but Stoke dominated the match and it remains to be seen if Mauricio Pochettino’s men will now qualify for next season’s Europa League.
Lloris was left to do his best behind a defence that looked at sixes-and-sevens for much of the encounter, and after the game he reflected on a poor performance and looked ahead to the club’s remaining fixtures.
“We lost confidence during the game and if you aren’t strong enough, you have no control and that’s what happened,” the French international said.
“All the players now think the same way and that’s to try and win the last two matches and try to finish as high as possible.”
Tottenham are currently sixth in the table with two games remaining, at home to Hull City and then away to Everton.
Then it is down to Pochettino and chairman Daniel Levy to make the additions that will ensure Tottenham do not have another season that starts so well before ultimately fading away.
