The sprightly winger has stated that the defensive side of his games has matured in The Championship.
Many Tottenham fans are calling for promising youth-academy graduate Alex Pritchard to be included in Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team squad at White Hart Lane next season.
Like Harry Kane, Andros Townsend, Ryan Mason and others, the England under-21's winger has been forced to spend time out on loan, with Pritchard playing his football at Brentford this season.
With the Spurs youngster being named the club’s Players’ Player of the Year and also winning a place in the Championship Team of the Year, the starlet is expected to have a bright future.
In light of a return to White Hart Lane this summer and the potential chance to play in the top flight next term, Pritchard has stated that he is ready to star for Tottenham.
“My time at Brentford has been amazing; the club has been great to me and it will be tough leaving, but that’s football,” Sky Sports quote him as saying.
“The awards have been massive to boost me on for next year.
“For the players to vote for me was great. Anyone could have won that award with their performances. To pick up as many awards as I have can only put me in good stead for next year.
“I think the defensive side of my game has matured here and hopefully I can kick on next season and play in the Premier League.”
The right-hand side of Tottenham’s midfield has been an area of concern this season, with neither Erik Lamela nor Andros Townsend impressing consistently or being able to lock down the position for a prolonged period of time.
Pochettino has become renowned for giving young players a chance to prove themselves and as such Pritchard will hope to play a part in the North London club’s drive towards the top four in 2015-16.
