Report: Newcastle United chasing Ondrej Duda, also linked with Aston Villa

The Slovakian international is being chased by several teams across the continent.

A report last month in Polish source suggested that Tim Sherwood was interested in bringing Legia Warsaw star Ondrej Duda to Aston Villa this summer.

The 20-year-old Slovakian, who has been compared to Angel Di Maria, only joined Legia in February from FK Kosice, and in November last year he made his debut for the Slovakia national team. He recently scored his first goal for his nation and has, in the past, been linked to Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

This week he has also been linked to Southampton. It was reported by The Sun that Southampton had already lodged a £6 million bid with the Polish club for his services.

The 'Slovakian Di Maria' now has another interested party from the Premier League, as Newcastle United are set to move for the player.

It is suggested by that Duda has caught the eye at St James' Park and Newcastle will be making a move for the player, according to the report.

Duda will consider Newcastle, if they stay up in the Premier League.

However, they have plenty of competition. Teams from Germany and Italy are also said to be keen.
