One of Newcastle United's summer signings is looking ahead to today's clash with West Bromwich Albion.
The Frenchman wrote, “Matchday! Howay the lads!” but will the 25-year-old get the chance to play his part, a week on from being an unused substitute against Leicester City?
On that occasion, Newcastle crashed to a 3-0 defeat against Nigel Pearson’s resurgent side, leaving John Carver’s men with a battle on their hands to ensure they remain in the top flight.
As things stand, Newcastle are two points clear of safety, but Sunderland’s game-in-hand could yet prove crucial with the Black Cats currently occupying the final relegation place.
Cabella has played 32 times for Newcastle since his summer signing, but in that time he has scored just one goal and provided only two assists.
That is markedly different from his final season at Montpellier, when he netted 14 times and set up an additional eight goals.
He still has time to play a significant role in Newcastle’s remaining fixtures, and based on his tweet he appears up for the fight. But the question is: Will Carver put his faith in him?
