Picture: Liverpool owned Iago Aspas posts image in former team's kit, 'back to home'

The forward will take on Celta Vigo for loan club Sevilla.

Yesterday it was reported by sources in Spain that Liverpool forward Iago Aspas could be moving on to play for former club Celta Vigo.

He told Faro de Vigo:

“Right now it is difficult to see a return to Celta Vigo next season.”

He was speaking as his current loan club take on Celta this weekend. Aspas is currently on loan at Sevilla and is clearly looking forward to a trip back to face the Galicians.

He posted this message on Twitter today, highlighting his thoughts for his former club:

According to the Guardian, Liverpool paid Celta Vigo a fee in the region of £7.7 million for his services in June 2013 but Aspas struggled in England.

The physical nature of English football did not agree with Aspas who only managed 15 games and one goal for Liverpool last term before being shipped out on loan to Sevilla.

He has scored 10 goals in 23 appearances for his current club, most of them coming in the cup competitions - including a pair of hat-tricks in the Copa Del Rey.

Now we will see if he remains at Liverpool in the summer.
