Manchester United's victory against Crystal Palace owed much to the performance of Ashley Young.

Manchester United finally got back to winning ways this weekend as they defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park.

United were made to work for their victory, with Juan Mata’s opener cancelled out by Palace midfielder Jason Puncheon.

The resurgent Marouane Fellaini ultimately proved the goal-scoring hero, netting the winner with just 12 minutes of normal-time remaining. But it was Ashley Young who had a game to remember, setting up both goals and looking every inch a United star.

Young has been a different player under manager Louis van Gaal, and the 29-year-old put in arguably his best performance of the season to inspire United to within touching distance of Champions League qualification.

The winger has played 26 times this season, reclaiming his regular starting spot a regular since his return from injury, and after defeats to Chelsea, Everton and West Bromwich Albion, van Gaal and his players can rest a little easier this weekend.

After the match we took to Twitter to see what United fans thought of Young’s latest performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:
