Following a dramatic 3-0 win over Bayern Munich in the Champions League in midweek, it is back to La Liga duties for Barcelona this weekend.
The current Spanish top flight leaders take on Real Sociedad at Camp Nou and will hope to maintain their lead over perennial rivals Real Madrid in the race for the title.
Lionel Messi captivated the world with his brilliance on Wednesday night, scoring twice against the Bundesliga giants and displaying unparalleled individualism.
Ahead of the clash this weekend, Real Sociedad boss David Moyes has been speaking out about the man that he will try to shackle in the fixture.
The Scotsman was full of praise for the Argentine’s abilities, but also stated his respect for the way Messi conducted himself on the pitch.
"No-one can defend against Messi,” AS quote the former Manchester United boss as saying.
“He may have the odd off day, but he’s one of the best players of all times. Teams try and stop him, but he carries on, makes no fuss.
“I admire Messi for what he represents, his fantastic football and the fact that he doesn’t dive or fake injury, things that repulse me in the world of football.”
Messi has already breached the 40-goal tally in La Liga this season and is caught up in a battle with rival Cristiano Ronaldo for this season’s Pichichi.
The Argentine was left on the bench for the reverse fixture at Anoeta in January, where Luis Enrique’s men were surprisingly beaten 1-0.
Barcelona have rallied since then, with the chance of a momentous treble still on the cards.
