David Gold responds to frustrated fan on Twitter after West Ham loss

The West Ham co-chairman took to social media after his side's 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa.

West Ham United co-chairman David Gold delivered a firm response to a frustrated fan on Twitter after the east London side once again lost on the road on Saturday afternoon.

Tom Cleverley netted the first-half winner as Aston Villa continued their remarkable form under Tim Sherwood with a 1-0 win over the Hammers.

And supporters were left naturally frustrated after yet another West Ham loss.

Some felt strongly enough to contact Gold on social media and he responded to one with an 'obvious' answer but also offered the defence that West Ham's two top goalscorers are injured.

It is becoming more and more predictable that West Ham won't come away from a Premier League weekend with three points these days.

And so it proved at Villa Park, with Sherwood's in-form Aston Villa side too much of an obstacle for Sam Allardyce's men.

What of Allardyce's West Ham future with the manager's contract up at the end of the current season?

One would think his fate is sealed yet the Hammers do not appear to have a replacement lined up. Whatever happens, losing to Aston Villa didn't help anyone's cause at Upton Park.
