Alleged Arsenal target Layvin Kurzawa reportedly asks to leave Monaco

A young talent said to be attracting interest from Arsenal could be available this summer.

According to a report from French website Le10 Sport, AS Monaco defender Layvin Kurzawa has told the club he wants to leave at the end of the current campaign.

The report claims Arsenal remain interested in the 22-year-old left-back, after the Gunners approached the Ligue 1 side earlier this season about a potential January transfer.

That may not have happened, but it has seemingly not stopped Arsenal’s admiration for a player who has racked up 86 appearances for Monaco, scoring five goals and providing nine assists in that time.

Kurzawa’s current contract runs until the summer of 2018, but it is being alleged that at a recent meeting between the player’s agent and Monaco, it was made clear the youngster wanted to move on.

While Arsenal have Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs as left-back options, Kurzawa may be too good a talent to ignore if he does become available.

He won his first senior cap for France last year and he is a player Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will surely be well aware of given his extensive knowledge of French football.

With the report citing an offer of between €15 and €20million will get the player, it could be money very well spent.
