The Frenchman has taken to Twitter to reveal his definite return to action.
Swansea City have been experiencing something of a striker shortage recently. They flogged Wilfried Bony in January to Manchester City. They also had Bafetimbi Gomis picking up an injury. The Frenchman suffered a hamstring strain against Everton in April.
Swansea have since been using Marvin Emnes or Nelson Oliveira up top, but the former has suffered an ankle injury. The Portuguese international is expected to miss the remaining games of the season.
Fortunately Swansea have Gomis back.
It had been reported he was set to face Arsenal on Monday, now he has confirmed that is true.
He posted a series of messages on Twitter this evening, revealing he was ready to go for the Swans against Arsenal in North London:
after a few weeks away from the pitch and from my team, I want to let you know that I'm back to play.— Bafétimbi Gomis (@BafGomis) May 8, 2015
I would like to thank you all for your messages which helped me a lot during my recovery.— Bafétimbi Gomis (@BafGomis) May 8, 2015
I can't wait to be with my teammates again and to make a strong finish!!! I am jack ...— Bafétimbi Gomis (@BafGomis) May 8, 2015
Gomis has had an eventful first season with Swansea. He collapsed on the pitch against Tottenham earlier in the campaign and when Bony was still around was being linked with an early exit from the Liberty Stadium.
Now Swansea fans will hope he can fire their team to an excellent finish to what has been a great season, with games against Arsenal, Manchester City and Crystal Palace.
