Former Queens Park Rangers midfielder Shaun Derry believes Chris Ramsey has shown his passion for the job.

Former Queens Park Rangers player Shaun Derry has told TalkSPORT that the R's should appoint Chris Ramsey as their permanent manager.

Ramsey is currently under contract for the rest of the season, but Derry wants to see his stay extended.

Derry, who is currently out of work having been sacked by Notts County, says that Ramsey has shown his passion for the post and should be given a chance to guide the R's back to the Premier League.

“I hope Chris Ramsey gets the job, he seems to have a vision of somebody who wants to develop. They have got somebody who really cares,”

Derry should be buoyed by recent reports in the Daily Mirror suggesting that QPR are set to offer Ramsey the job, regardless of what division they are in next season.

Ramsey took over Harry Redknapp in February and it appears that he will fail in his mission to keep the side in the top-flight, but he has still helped them to improve.

Although the changes look to be too late to save them this season, the hope is that he can build a squad capable of conquering the Championship.

QPR are currently seven points adrift of safety and with just three games to play, their survival chances are looking bleak.
