Liverpool's players have been readying themselves for a clash with Chelsea.
Liverpool’s players have been photographed taking part in training ahead of their huge Premier League encounter with Chelsea this weekend.
The two sides clash on Sunday afternoon with the Blues recently crowned champions and the Reds still in the race for a top-four finish.
Depending on how Manchester United get on against Crystal Palace 24 hours earlier, Liverpool could cut the gap between the two sides to just a single point with a victory at Stamford Bridge.
That is a lot of ifs, buts and maybes but the simple fact is Brendan Rodgers will know his side has to beat Chelsea with time running out to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
In the build-up to the game, a number of Liverpool stars were in action on the training ground, including £16million summer signing Mario Balotelli, who will be looking for a recall having missed last weekend’s clash with Queens Park Rangers.
Another player looking to impress was 21-year-old goalkeeper Danny Ward, who was snapped pulling off a fine save.
The Welshman has been in good form for Liverpool’s under-21s recently and he may well make the bench again at the weekend having done so 11 times in the league previously this season.
