Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Paulinho has called for the side to take their chances against Stoke City on the club's official website.
Spurs head to the Britannia Stadium tomorrow knowing that they will need to get the three points if they are to make it into the Europa League qualification spots, and Paulinho thinks that his teammates need to be ruthless.
Spurs wasted numerous opportunities against Manchester City in their last Premier League fixture and Paulinho acknowledges that they cannot afford to make similar mistakes again.
“We have to get the chances and score,” he said. “We know it’s a difficult game at Stoke, they have a strong team so we have to be ready and focused on the match to get a result.
“Last Sunday’s game against Manchester City was disappointing because of the result, but the football was much better and now we are looking forward to facing Stoke. We are ready for another big test and we are determined to get the three points.”
Paulinho's comments highlight just how important Harry Kane will be to Spurs at the weekend, as he is their main goalscoring threat.
Kane has scored 30 goals for Spurs this season and they will be relying on him to have his shooting boots on again when they face the Potters.
The 21-year-old striker's blistering form has slowed down a little of late, with fatigue seemingly starting to creep into his game, but Mauricio Pochettino will hope that the England international is back to his best for the final three games of Spurs' season.
At the moment the Lilywhites sit in sixth place, three points behind Liverpool, and they will be looking to close that gap between now and the end of the season.
