A trip to the Britannia Stadium is never an easy task, and Paul Merson has told SkySports he expects Tottenham to fall short there this weekend.
Spurs need a win to keep their slim chances of finishing in the top four alive.
Merson says he feels Stoke will simply be too strong for Mauricio Pochettino's side.
He said: "I never bet against Stoke at home, even though they are playing Tottenham, and I am going to go for a 2-0 win to Stoke as they are a good team when playing at the Britannia."
What do the statistics say?
Tottenham are in fifth place to Stoke's 10th, but they are separated by only nine points.
Both teams have won four of their last 10 Premier League matches, and each too won just one of their last five games.
Spurs have scored 16 more goals than Stoke this season, but conceded six more.
Despite Merson's perception regarding Stoke's home advantage, they have only got the 11th best home record in the league this season. This includes six losses from 17 games, and eight wins.
Away from home Tottenham hold the fourth best record in the division, gaining 28 points on their travels, losing just five of 17 games.
