The former Manchester United and Liverpool striker believes that the Villans will have too much for West Ham at Villa Park.
“Christian Benteke has scored 10 goals in his last eight PL games and he was again the difference between the sides against Everton last weekend,” the 35-year-old wrote on Betvictor.com.
“Villa struggle to keep clean sheets but the Hammers are without a win in 10 on the road in the PL and may struggle to contain a resurgent home side at Villa Park.”
A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Villa to win and both teams to score at 14/5”.
Could Michael Owen’s prediction come true?
Playing at home will certainly give Villa an advantage, and the current form of Belgium international striker Christian Benteke means that they are likely to score.
Tim Sherwood’s side will head into the match at Villa Park on Saturday on the back of a 3-2 home win against Everton.
West Ham also won last weekend, getting the better of relegation-threatened Burnley 1-0 at Boleyn Ground.
Sam Allardyce’s side will head to Villa Park with confidence, but given the current form and confidence of Sherwood’s players, the London outfit are unlikely to win.
The Hammers could sneak a draw, though. After all, West Ham do have a good team with some very good players.
