Paul-Georges Ntep has emerged as a potential summer target for Liverpool, so Reds fans would be advised to witness this daft goal from his Ligue 1 days.

Liverpool may have lost out on Memphis Depay to Manchester United, but the Reds could be about to recruit another colourful and highly-rated youngster who also happens to have scored one of the most ridiculous goals ever seen in France.

Rennes winger Paul-Georges Ntep has emerged as a surprise target for the Anfield side, with L’Equipe reporting this week that the 22-year-old has met with representatives from the Premier League club.

A former France under-21 international with 15 caps and nine goals to his name, Ntep has also impressed in Ligue 1 this season and has managed a steady 14 goals in 35 league outings to date for Rennes.

Yet among all of his goals for the French club, there is one effort that stands out just for sheer audacity.

The goal in question occurred almost a year ago, when Rennes travelled to Reims.

Ntep was among the star performers in a 3-1 win for the away side, but the Cameroon-born attacker also courted his fair share of controversy on the night.

The flash point came when Ntep decided to stop the ball on the Reims’ goal line, before getting on his hands and knees and rolling it into the goal using his head.

Stupid, bizarre and seemingly brilliant at the same time, the goal certainly makes for interesting viewing if you are a Liverpool fan.

Almost 12 months on and the question now is: Is Ntep mature enough for the demands of the Premier League?
