One of Celtic's hottest prospects has been reflecting on a wonderful individual performance.
Celtic player Luke Donnelly has been speaking to the club’s official television channel after his four goals helped the young Hoops to a 6-0 victory against Hibernian in the semi-final of the Scottish Youth Cup.
The 19-year-old is a versatile player, who can be called on to do a job up front, on the right wing or as an attacking midfielder.
His eye for goal was clear for all to see earlier this week, with Connelly going one better than a hat-trick and ensuring Celtic’s young guns could enjoy success just as the senior side have in securing a domestic double under Ronny Deila.
Speaking after the game, the Celtic teenager said, “I’m feeling great. It was a great performance.
“We knew the win was the most important thing but to play like we did and show the level of performance that we did was excellent and obviously to get four goals is brilliant.
“We believed in ourselves and we knew if we attacked and pressed and had intensity then I thought we could get at Hibs.”
That certainly proved to be the case, with Celtic’s youngsters putting in a performance to be remembered…and likely to have got Deila’s attention, too.
With Celtic’s Scottish Premiership title secured and three games remaining, some of the club’s young prospects could taste first-team action before the end of the campaign.
And Donnelly has certainly given himself a chance of making it a week or two that he will never forget.
